He hurled the Chicago (A) White Sox to a 2-0 shutout victory over the Kansas City Royals, yielding 2 hits with 6 strikeouts and 1 walk. "He threw strikes and he was always around the plate," the Kansas City skipper said. "The ball was doing everything he wanted it to do. We hit some balls hard, but they were all right at the fielders." Thus far this season, Bast has worked 120.2 innings with 69 strikeouts en route to a 5-5 record and a 5.22 ERA. |
