"Baseball don't get any better than this."
The Bees were victorious 4-3 in the series after completing the regular season 78-52 and finishing in second place in the Pacific Coast League Pacific North.
The losing manager had his say, too, telling reporters, "Despite the loss, this year has been a pretty good story, a doggone good story. I'm proud of my guys. We had great veteran leadership and we had players that never gave up -- no quit in us at all. And it got us here. And I'm proud of that. I think you might see the Bats back here soon." | | Friday, September 10th, 2027: Cain Bewilders Bees The Bees manager was philosophical after his team was shut out by the Louisville Bats 9-0.
"It was just one of those games, shake it off and do better next time," he said.
Jason Cain blanked them on 4 hits with 4 walks and 4 strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs. They were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Cain said.
"I set them up pretty good, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
This year Cain has compiled a 5-3 record with a 2.49 ERA in 8 starts. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | P Shaun Killingworth | herniated disc (back) | 9 months | Not on DL | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 78-52, .600 PCT | | Position in Division | 2nd, 8.0 GB | | Record at home | 40-25, .615 PCT | | Record on the road | 38-27, .585 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 11-9, .550 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 20-22, .476 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 25-22, .532 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 53-30, .639 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 8-2, .800 PCT | | Record in April | 13-15, .464 PCT | | Record in May | 16-13, .552 PCT | | Record in June | 14-12, .538 PCT | | Record in July | 20-8, .714 PCT | | Record in August | 15-4, .789 PCT |
