Louis Thome of the Milwaukee Brewers was on fire against Chicago (A). He shut them down 5-0 on 2 hits and no runs with 5 strikeouts and 2 walks.
"The first two pitches I'm looking for an out, a ground ball or a fly ball," Thome said. "I'm trying to get quick outs. I've never been a big believer in trying to strike a guy out from the very first pitch. It's too easy to end up behind in the count doing that."

That's what Toronto first baseman Lou *Gehrig* said to BNN reporters after his fantastic 5-6 day against the Chicago (A) White Sox at Blue Jays Stadium. "I got some good counts and used the whole field."
The Blue Jays had a good day, too, and won the ballgame 19-4.
L. *Gehrig* hit an RBI double in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off R. Stackpole in the 6th and flied out in the 8th.
Currently *Gehrig* is batting .367 with 12 home runs and 39 RBIs.
